Questions, answered straight

Where does the data come from?

Two official NOAA sources: the NCEI Storm Events Database (the official NWS storm record, 1950–present) and Storm Prediction Center daily storm reports (preliminary, same-day). Every row in every report names its source and data vintage, and links the official record. We add no modeling — that's the product.

How current is it?

SPC daily reports are ingested nightly, so yesterday's storms are on file this morning. Storm Events files are refreshed monthly for the current and prior year (NCEI re-compiles them) and annually for the archive. Reports label preliminary vs final on every row, and no storm is double-counted.

Does a report prove the roof was damaged?

No — and be wary of anything that claims to. NWS records are point and path observations. The absence of a nearby report does NOT prove that no hail fell at this address — it means no observation was logged nearby. A report of nearby hail documents the event; it does not by itself prove damage to a specific structure. The report documents the storm record; your inspection documents the damage.

What counts as unlimited?

Unlimited per-address reports, nationwide, for your operation. Run them from the generate page or by emailing an address to our reports inbox. No seats and no metering — share the link within your office.

How do my team and I run addresses day to day?

Keep your checkout confirmation link — it's your permanent generate link. Or email the address (and date of loss, if any) to our reports inbox and the report comes back automatically. Coordinates ("32.76, -97.65") work for rural properties.

Can I try it before subscribing?

Yes — single reports are $29 (standard) or $49 (extended, with wind records and the appeal-letter draft) on HailEvidence, our resident-facing site. Buy one for a claim you're working and judge it on a real file.

How do I cancel? Refunds?

Cancel anytime from your Stripe receipt — no call, no form. If a report isn't useful, reply to your delivery email within 14 days and we refund it.

Why are the reports hosted on hailevidence.com and not here?

Neutrality. The report is evidence; it lives on a neutral data site with public methodology and NOAA citations, so when a carrier checks the source they find the record, not a pitch. StormProof is the storefront for pros; HailEvidence is where the evidence lives.
